Achievements of Anna's movement: On 10th day of his fast

Apart from Jan LokPal Bill, which is a small but important step, in the second freedom fight and fight against corruption, there have been numerous big achievements of the second freedom fight so far. This articles lists them in brief.

As I said earlier in my April post "Future Direction to the Movement" that fight for a bill is symbolic only and the scope of 'second freedom fight' goes much beyond a bill. We must be ready for a movement. Bill is a very small but important step. Real outcomes of Anna's fight so far are:

• True Awakening of the nation particularly of youth towards the 'truth and spirit' which almost vanished after demise of Gandhi ji and other martyr's like Bhagat Singh, Azaad, Subhash, Bismil and numerous others. Gandhi ji's name, images and statues were just used by our leaders for all these >60 years, with their conduct speech and action oriented radically opposed to the Mahatma's vision. Presence of corruption is due to lack in truth and principles.

• A united nation for the first time after indendence above cast, creed and religion: It seems to be achieved against all odds and despite decades of efforts of the rulers of indepent India to divide the nation on the same lines.

• For new generation: A glimpse of what freedom fight was like under the leadership of Gandhi ji. Belief that right to movements of mass-thoughts to explore truth and right to protests against untruth is a fundamental right of a human granted by the god himself. Will help them rise beyond personal fantasies.

• Exposure of the real intentions of politicians and our rulers and lack of political will power in them. (Black English Rulers)

• Awakening for 'True Indian Democracy': People now realize they are supreme in a true democracy and these selfish politicians and MPs should not be left without control for 5 years after election. The phrase "We the people..." of our constituition is felt today. Movements for truth and protests against untruth strenghten the democracy.
• A Debate and introinspection over corruption.
• Big Question on the Electorial Process and Need for Election Reforms: Use of black money, corruption and gunda gardi in elections today almost disables election of good people right from Pnchayat, MLA, MP and Prime Minister.

• Debate on supremacy of peple or parliament : No doubt parliament is supreme over any individual MP or Party but when it comes to the wish and welfare of the people then in a true democracy the people are supreme. Constituiion grants and expresses these spirits on its very onset i.e. in its preface..."We the people...." Parliament is an instituition to serve the people not to be a dictator over them. 

         We must read 'Hind Swaraj' by mahatama Gandhi ji to know the real limits of parliament. He has abused the parliament for most of the wrong doings.No parliament has done any good thing for the people. Therefore, a continouos vigil and control is required over its conduct.

Every one of the above achievements is very precious.
